Frequently asked questions
Who can rent the space?
Anyone can book. Non-profits get a discounted rate with proof of 501(c)(3) status or equivalent, and any bioscience-related company qualifies for the Industry Affiliate rate.
How do I reserve the space?
Submit your event through our form and we'll confirm availability. Your reservation is confirmed once we receive the signed agreement, a 50% deposit and your certificate of insurance. The remaining balance is due one week before the event.
How many people can you accommodate?
The seminar space and rear hall hold up to 125 guests, and the outdoor courtyard holds 75–100. We have chairs for up to 100 seated guests.
What's included in my booking?
AV, screens, microphones, Wi-Fi, a kitchenette and free parking. For furniture, we have chairs for up to 100, about 10 rectangular tables and folding tables for catering or the courtyard. Larger table setups would need rentals.
What hours can I use the space?
Full-day rentals include access from 8 AM to 9 PM, with setup and teardown time included.
Can I bring my own caterer?
Yes, outside caterers are welcome. If you'd like recommendations, we can share caterers, bartenders and rental companies that have worked events here before.
Are there any deposits?
Yes. A 50% deposit reserves your date, and there's a $250 cleaning deposit on top of the rental rate, fully refunded after the event if the venue is left clean.
Do I need insurance?
Yes. You'll need a certificate of insurance naming BioscienceLA as an additional insured, covering damages and liability. Please submit it with your signed agreement.
Is parking available?
Yes, free parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
