Nasim Eftekhari, Chief AI and Analytics Officer, City of Hope 

A computer scientist by training and oncology innovator by choice, Nasim directs City of Hope’s enterprise strategy for artificial intelligence, data science, and AI governance. She built the Applied AI & Data Science department from an individual contributor role in 2017 into a horizontally integrated organization whose machine-learning teams improve efficiency and quality across the spectrum—from clinical decision support and patient care to research, precision medicine, and core business operations. Nasim’s perspective blends start-up grit with health-system scale. Before City of Hope, she co-founded an AI firm that applied real-time social, news, and market signals to political and financial forecasting, and she continues to advise emerging tech companies while helping shape national policy on responsible healthcare AI. She holds an MS in Computer Science from Southern Illinois University and a BS in Computer Engineering from Khaje Nasir Toosi University in Tehran. Her professional North Star is extending world-class cancer care to vulnerable and underserved populations through equitable, evidence-based AI. Off the clock, you’ll find her on a Los Angeles soccer pitch, a beach volleyball court, or fitting in an evening workout.
