Rene Hubert, Director, Early Career Talent & Academic Engagement, Amgen, Thousand Oaks
Impacting patients has been the guiding principle throughout René’s career. His passion has been in advancing technology innovation and biologic drug development within the vibrant greater Los Angeles area biotech ecosystem. After earning his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from USC and completing postdoctoral research at Cedars-Sinai and UCLA, René entered the biotechnology industry, where he focused on advancing the tools and technologies that enable innovative biologic medicines, from discovering antibody targets at Agensys to developing expression systems at Xencor and Amgen.
At Amgen, he led the Expression and Cell Engineering group and now focuses on developing early-career scientific talent while accessing innovation in academia through outreach, alliances, and training programs.
René believes the future of biotechnology lies not only in discovery—but in the people who make discovery possible.
