Tariq Warsi, Ph.D. is a biotechnology executive, investor, and entrepreneur with experience spanning life sciences, venture investing, drug development, and commercialization. He currently serves as Investment Director at the Alfred E. Mann Institute at the University of Southern California, where he leads investment and commercialization activities for the USC AMI Innovation Fund, supporting USC-affiliated life science companies.
Previously, Tariq held senior leadership roles at Amgen, AstraZeneca, Novome Biotechnologies, and Capricor Therapeutics, leading technical operations, process development, manufacturing, and CMC strategy across cell and gene therapies, biologics, microbiome therapeutics, and other emerging modalities. His experience spans company formation and venture diligence through IND submission, clinical manufacturing, and strategic transactions.
Tariq is also an entrepreneur, scientific advisor, and educator with experience supporting founders and boards on scientific strategy, company building, financing, and commercialization. He completed his postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School and holds a Ph.D. in Cell, Molecular, and Developmental Biology from the University of California, Riverside.
